upgrading a mongoose
hey i was just wondering if it would be completely stupid to try and upgrade a mongoose brawler. i know i would have to replace just about everything to make it decent, but im not that great of a rider myself, so i would just upgrade some of the things. i just dont know if it just better to get a new bike. thanks in advance for any help.

If I were you I would just go ahead and get a new bike. It will probably cost more to upgrade the Mongoose than it would be to get a new bike. How much were you willing to spend on the upgrades?

Yeah, just get a new bike. You will go nowwhere with that money on upgrading. Just save an extra 50$ and get a Dk Six Pack. It has everything you need to get you going. It will last a long time.

Saving an extra 50, you mean spending. Dk six packs are 300.

As in, save up an extra $50, so then you can spend it.

I understood BikingSoCal the first time I read it. I didn't go out looking for a $250 DK six-pack when I read his post.

Yes FitRider and thermo, that is what I meant. It is nice to have people that understand things more than others. Oh yeah, why does everyone call you Gunz?

Its not a waste to upgrade a mongoose brawler. Why would it be. That frame is extremely strong, i own one myself. Ive put it through almost everything that a bike can go through and there are no dents or anything like that. upgrade it, dont buy a brand new bike

If you could upgrade a bike for $250, which is like nothing if you buy good parts, why wouldn't you just spend an extra $50 for a whole bike with better parts that will last longer?

250$ is enough to buy target parts.

Target doesn't have that many parts. Maybe new pedals, pegs, seat, and um...brake pads? You could throw in a headlight and flashing tail light while you are at it. Oh, and some tire-flys.
Then you would have a totally awesome custom complete.

Do sit-ups all day, and soon you will have a six pack. For free.
Why isn't anybody laughing? I thought it was a good joke! ...or, maybe not.
