15 Year Old Dirt and Trail Rider Need Help

Im 15 years old and I do trails and dirt jumping. My current ride is a Next for the last 3 years since I was a beginner. I need an upgrade and my price range is 200-350 dollars. If there were any suggestions about a good bike. I was thinking about a DK 6 Pack or an Eastern Traildigger. Dont need a real pro bike. Our largest gap at our track is about 8 feet. Thanks for all the help.

six pack.

Any specific reasons why?

Full 4130 frame, spanish BB, cheapest cromo bike for the price and it's decently spec'd.

I would agree with WTP. Six packs are great completes for anyone that isn't trying to spend alot.

Got any pics of your trails?

i have ridden both the traildigger and six pack, and i think i like the traildigger much better. it was overall alot "tighter" feeling, and everything was very precise. but the six pack was a very nice bike also, so eeither way i dont think you could go wrong

The trail digger is **** buddy.

jonly 09-04-07 08:46 PM

how so? I was looking at ordering one.

wethepeople 09-04-07 08:55 PM

Frame material? ONE tube is made out of 4130, the rest is just hi-ten steel, gas pipe if you will.

jonly 09-04-07 09:35 PM

that doesn't even make sense. I'll keep shopping.

FitRider 921 09-04-07 09:37 PM

It does make sense. The frame is made out of cheap and weak material.

If you want a bombproof dirt ride find a Mosh Brass. Full 4130 frame, i think my whole mosh (lux) comes in at 35 lbs. Don't be ashamed to take the time and build off just a frame, you will thank yourself in the end when you have a bike that is just for you. If you absolutely must get a new complete, go with the 6 pack. Worst bike out of all the friends is an eastern jane... he has had to replace just about every component. I'm just not impressed with their completes.

How doesn't it make sense?

jonly 09-04-07 10:15 PM

I meant that I don't see why they would make it like that. It doesn't make sense that they thought it was a good idea.

FitRider 921 09-04-07 10:18 PM

It costs them less money to manufacture. That's good business for them.

jonly 09-04-07 10:20 PM

but it devalues the brand. I'll not even consider an Eastern in the future because of it.

FitRider 921 09-04-07 10:24 PM

It doesn't matter much because people will still buy it because it's cheap and probably light.

live4muzic2 09-04-07 10:29 PM

its sad to see how many kids at my school think they will be "bikers" because they ride easterns.

EDIT: with the seat at maximum height.

wethepeople 09-04-07 10:32 PM

We have kids like that at our school, but they all have Fit AMs and Kona Stinkys.

live4muzic2 09-04-07 10:41 PM

kona?
