    Am I nuts?

I was a pretty hard core bmxer in my earlier years. No competitions but rode every day and put every penny i had in to my bikes(had many). I decided I need to grow up a little and at 18 bought a mountain bike. It tons of fun I compete often and have done well. But as 20 I want a bmx I want to f*** around There is so much potetial around my school(rutgers) riding. And now that I have a car(and a license) I can actually drive to parks.
ANy thoughts on a light bike that can take a beating from a 5'10" 165 pounder? I think hoffman has some great bikes. Im thinking around 500(like i said im a college kid)

butnut you wanted to know about a bike that is light and can take a beating well a powerlite spitfire just might do the trick. i had one until it got jacked and i couldn't have been more pleased with it. i use to have problems with cracking the frames but that one wouldn't even bend.

When you guys say "light bmx bike" what are you talking about in lbs? I've heard a lot about 30+ lbs bmx bikes and it seems crazy to me that a small bike with no gears, suspention, etc. could weigh that much.

I too am thinking of getting a bmx bike so i don't wreck my nice xc mountain bike dirt jumping but i don't know if I can give up the light weight (my bike is 25lbs, and I intend to drop a few lbs in upgrades over the next year or two).
