So what is the oldest part on your bike other than the rider?
Mine are some Dia Compe Tech 77 levers & some GT DX pedals from about 1992.
How about you?

The front valve cap. I've had it, well, longer than some of you have been alive. Probably grabbed it off my dad's garage floor around 1987.
Next would be my front hub shell - Suzue high flange 48. been using it for around 10/11 yrs.

Now that I think about it, I have two other things. When my 2000 Haro Mirra Pro was built, it had two oldie but goodie things.
ODI Signature Ron Wilkerson grips from around 1988.
Peregrine Super Pro 48's from around the same time.
I still have the wheels and can't seem to part with them.

Oldest part I ever used was a brake cable from a 1962 Harley Davidson, but that was back in 1989. The MTB had large holes to accept the larger motorcycle cable ends in the brake handles, with an adapter so a regular bicycle cable would fit.

I would have to say my profile 180's I bought it back in 2000 from a bike swapmeet for forty dollars. The part came from an aluminum mid school SE Quadangle. So the age of this part is beyond me, I know it is atleast 10years old.
Anyone know what year profile that did not have an etch or stamp design on their arms? I know for sure it is of an older Profile by it's looks. Just wondering.

Bikes: One brand-less build-up, and a Connondale Synapse Carbon Ultegra Disc. A nicer bike than I need, but it was a good deal, so... ;-)

I think I've got most of y'all beat. My commuter bike has a set of SunTour derailieurs (both front and rear, plus shifters) from the early 80's.

Whole bike is 1980's Schwinn Predator. I use it mainly to pick up my car if I have a few drinks and get a sober ride home. (usually bike everywhere, so it is pretty rare) I live on top of a city built on a hill and can just cruise down for 2 miles

Probably my Primo saddle. I recently dusted off my BMX bike and started riding again. It's a Federal Division that I got from BMX Plus to test a long time ago, before it was released. I haven't ridden in 4 or 5 years, but apparantly my bike is old and heavy now, hahaha. Back when I got it, it was the ****.
