I just made a new acc. and have never bmx'd before. One of my questions is what does the axle have to do with the bike. How would this be for my first bike?

Hey Everybody

I'm looking to get abmx bike. It's my first bmx, but I'm an ok dirt jumper on my mtb. I've been thinking about a few different bikes...

2009 Haro Forum Counterpart Lite (http://www.harobikes.com/bmx/tab2_subNav1.php)

2009 KHE Triple Threat LT (http://www.khebikes.com/cms/index.ph...=347&Itemid=75)

2009 Black Eye Park Pro (http://www.blackeyebikes.com/bikes.html)

2010 Kink Liberty (http://www.kinkbmx.com/products/bike...blue/main.html)

Out of these bikes, which do you think would be best?

My price range is $600 USD tops. I am looking for a awesome looking, good light weight bike (around 25lbs) for street and dirt... maybe a little park. I am 5'4 and 110lbs if that helps. If you have any reccomendations, that would help too.

Thanks!

Heya,

I am looking for a bike that I can purchase ~300$ for a full setup, however unsure if the bmx cruiser is the style I am looking for. It will probably see ~5km/day of riding through city/suburb streets, and will take as much of a beating as I can lash out on it (lots of misaligned (relative to the rims) landings, sharp turns, and attempts at random stupid tricks that I can never pull off)

I am NOT into bmx, I will most likely never do the tricks, and its not my reason for the bike, I just want a sturdy bike with quick acceleration (24" vs 26" ^.^) that can take a beating without squealing.

If you think this type of bike is for me any suggestions? I am 6' and ~165lbs, so far what I have gathered is I want a long TT length and a full chromoly frame if possible. (Yes, I have looked on google etc. however its mostly 20" bikes and not much about these cruisers). Any help appreciated (also, if buying online, is Danscomp.com the way to go?)

ATM looking at DK cygnus 24", thankful for any suggestions on whether this is the style of bike I want and if the DK is a good buy

The DK Cygnus is a good bike for the price. It should suit your needs well.

Fievel, you could ride anything you feel comfortable, but I would look at a 20" TT, as that's what I rode when I was 5'3". Now I ride a 20.5" TT and am 5'6".

Well if you're just starting out, the Liberty might not really be what you want. It doesn't have brakes on it and the ones that come with it are junk. The Black Eye isn't as popular, which probably means it's not as tried and trusted. It's still a really good bike though. The Haro is such a good bike. There's actually a pic of it in the Bike Check Thread. KHE makes mainly flatland stuff, but that is a really good bike too. With that budget, you have so many good choices. The only thing is, you're a little short so some of the bikes like the Forum Counterpart might be a little too long with a 21" TT. I would look for the bikes with a TT no longer than 20.75" if I were you.

Other bikes to consider:
Fit TRL3 $550 20.5" TT
Premium 3 Ring $600 20.8" TT
WeThePeople Recon $559 20.8" TT
WeThePeople Trust $500 21" TT
Verde Luxe $545 20.5" TT
DK Raimei $500 20.75" TT

Here's the Forum.

Yea I thought that the Counterpart might be a bit too big. I'm probably going to go with the Verde, the KHE, or the Black Eye. I'll be good with any of those bikes, right? Or is there one of those three bikes in particular that you would recommend?

The Kink Gap is decent, but not full chromoly. Probably the best bike you'll get for that price though.
All three are good bikes and should be equally good. Pick one up and have fun. The Black Eye looks the coolest, and then the white or black Verde, and then the KHE.

One last question...

I don't know a ton about which parts are high quality and which aren't as good. I know about chromoly and a few other things, but not a lot. Between the three bikes, which one probably has the best parts?

I know I'm asking some probably simple questions, but I just want to pick out a good, long lasting bike

Thanks

Actually, all three are really similar. Pretty much any bike you get for that much will last you a long time. BTW, the Fit TRL3 is a really good bike as well. I just wanted to make sure you didn't forget that.

One last bike that I wanted to ask you about. It's another black eye bike, and I wanted to make sure that this would work for what I would want to do. Minichamp, thanks for all the help. Here's a link to the bike.

Blackeye Killorado Bike 2010 http://www.danscomp.com/101479.php?cat=BIKES

Once again, thanks for all the help!

I hate that bike. The frame looks like a trials bike or something. It's spec'd decently though. And the colors look sick.

So is the frame bad for what I want to do, or would it be fine.
