hey guys, im lookin at gettin a bike and have no idea what i should be lookin for..i would mainly just be ridin it around, possibly do a couple races or just be goin off a couple things nothin too big...i dont know much about these bikes too much, all i've heard is haro, GT, mirraco, redline...but i really don't know what a good bike would be...lookin to spend probably 400 tops, im about 5'10"/11" and probably 170-175 pounds...wouldn't be needin any pegs cuz i wouldn't be grindin on anything so if anyone could help it'd be nice...oh yeah MetroDetroit area if Craigslist has any good deals...i am willing to go used if its still a good deal and a solid bike that will last me awhile

Can anyone recommend a bmx race bike? Nothing serious, just to get me started, see if I like it. Um, also, in the running races I do, I'm only decent with the 1-mile XC race, and pretty terrible for sprinting. Would this make me a slow bmxer?

One of the first two. Those are going to be your best bets.

I knew the DK one is a good bike but is that a good deal... the chain on the Haro has a little rust and the other one looks better. What about the Redline?

Can't Decide
I cant decide whether to buy one of two bikes. They are both the same price and at the maximum of my price range
the first one is a Kink Launch 2011 for $300
the second is a Hoffman Ontic Ec 2011 for $300
It would be great to hear which one is the better value and the better bike
thanks a lot

I'm looking for a bike that is equally good on dirt as it is on the street, i haven't had a bmx bike since i was about 12, and it was a sequota, i have heard that liquid bikes are really good but i have no idea how to build one on my own, and you can just get the frame and handle bars on the website, i was wondering if anyone could give me any ideas for good bikes for a beginner, i'm looking to spend about 3 or 400 dollars

Hey Im brand new to Bmx although I Motocross. Im looking for a dirt jumping Bmx for sure but take to the streets every now and then. Is it just the top tub length that determines if a bmx is more geared towards dirt jumping rather then street? Looking at all the different catagories makes me wonder what adjustments they make to the bikes?
I was looking at an Eastern Growler. My price range is up to $500. Any suggestions on Fit Bikes?

Top tube length is how the bike is sized for riders. My knowledge past that is a decade out of date, and more oriented towards race bikes. Somebody who knows what they're talking about should be along before too long.

This is my first ever post here so I would just like say hi!
So I bought a bmx (Haro) about 3 years ago when i was 11, i rarely used it. But im 14 now and play only the guitar, which is a lot of fun but i want to get some adrenaline through me since the band may be going to ****. Anyway back to bikes, I got the ol' thing out a couple of days ago, jumped off some curbs, managed to learn the bunny hop and im pretty happy with myself. So happy in fact that i would like to take bmx up as a sport but my bike is developing some not-so minor rust, the tires are gonna crap out on me, the axle's bent, the rear wheels buckled, the brake pads are like stone, the seats ruined, chains rusty, bearings are knackered so all in all it's not in the best condition (i know it sounds really bad but it isn't as bad as you think it is) I asked a mate if i should sort it out or just get a new one, he said to sort it out to a point were its in good working order, but not to mod it out. OR just buy a new one. I'm going to do both because it will be after xmas when I get a new bike. THIS IS THE BIT YOU CAN START READING FROM IF YOU AREN'T INTERESTED IN THE SITUATION AND JUST WANT TO RECOMMEND ME A NEW BIKE I'm 14, I'm 6ft tall, I weigh in at around 70kg. By the looks of things I'll be 70% street 30% skate park so i would like speed but also to be able to go up ramps (if that's possible) and I don't have a fixed budget if i want it I'll save up no matter how long it takes but please don't get the idea that money is no objection. If I've missed anything out please tell me and I'll be happy to fill you in!
Thanks if you reply and sorry for the outrageously long post

What bike is it? Meaning what model. Because that will determine a lot about what it's worth.

Hi guys n girls
im looking to buy my son ( who is 12 ) a top quality bmx for his 12th birthday, he is beginning to take a very keen interest in bmx's and is always down at the local bmx park on his old diamond back.
he has outgrown the diamond back now as its only a 18" frame and really just a basic bike
obviously its a fashion statement too with kids at his age, and i have tbh here, i dont know where to start
he has mentioned he would like a good haro bike, but looking around i see mirraco > eastern element > we the people,
are these all top bmx bikes for kids nowadays ??
we are from the UK and here is a link to a few Eastern element bike's i have been looking to maybe purchase for him
https://www.bikes2udirect.com/B2690.html
https://www.bikes2udirect.com/B2633.html
https://www.bikes2udirect.com/B2686.html
Not sure if eastern element bikes are one of the top bikes nowadays to purchase, or if i should buy him a Haro or we the prople bike
i could really do with some good advice here folks
Thanks

The Radia is overall a way better bike. The TT is only a 1/4" difference, but there are more pros over the Vex XL than that one con. Any way you could sit on each bike and decide that way? I don't know of a lot of LBS's that carry Verde, but it would be helpful. In between both of those bike is the United Supreme SU1, which has chromo TT, DT, and chainstays. It could have more chromo, but it also has sealed hubs, chromo forks, and a 21" TT. You have a pretty good price range, so there are a few choices. Just look for the most chromoly possible. The WTP Trust is a pretty legit bike for the price too, full chromoly frame, sealed hubs, etc., and it's on sale on Dan's Comp right now. The WTP Versus isn't a bad bike for the price either.
