I went to a bike shop today and i think i found a deal give me your input if you would please
The guy has all the 2011 Fit signature bikes said he would sell me 2 of them for 450 each.
He also has some We the people bikes 2011 Volta, Zodiac, Trust, that he will sell me for 450 each.
Cause I'm buying two hes says he is giving me a deal, and he wants to get them out so he can put the 2012 models out on the floor.
Would that be a better deal than the 2011 Mirraco Blend?
Im asking cause they might have better parts on them than the blend.
i know the frames are full chromoly, At least thats what it says on there website

The Signature's are all pretty good bikes. Those WTP's are all pretty nice too. Basically, bring your kids in there and have them pick? I mean, since all the bikes are basically the same, they can pick their colors and have the one they really want.

DK Six Pack to reinstate myself in the BMX world for the first time in 7 years (since I was 13), hoping to find some decent urban/park & DJ nearby, but the only thing I'm sure of in my area is a BMX track I used to race at. What do we think, yay or nay?

The the order you have are the choice you should take the Volta is an elite bike a few parts better than the zodiac, like wheels etc. The trust is a mid level, about as good as the Mirra but little better parts. The Volta at $450 each is pretty decent. If they get into it the Volta will take more of a beating and handle better in the long run. and good strong part to reuse.

Eh no matter, the guy sold it already. For curiosity's sake though, it was an 06, he was asking $175, I was going to try to talk him down to $125. It was in very well used condition (lots of grind marks & small dings), but no cracks or dents. I ended up biting the bullet on an older model Fit Van Homan frame built up on some much nicer parts, about to post it on the Bike Checks thread.

He mentioned three different model WTP all for$450. My point being if you get offered three three different bikes for same price, choose the high end ones. Lighter, sturdier Morbids Twins cant go wrong with the WTP Volta. He listed the bikes in the order of Volta being the best and Trust being the worst. Volta and Zodiac are Pro level bikes while Trust is an LT\AM.

Apparently, you missed what I was getting at. I don't know anyone (except, apparently, for you) who could understand a single word of what he said, and be able to get something intelligible out of it. And as a side note, how old are you?

You were offering advice as to all bikes being the same. I disagree. The WTP Volta is not on the same level as the Mirra Blend or the WTP Trust. Price being equal ($450) go with the better bike Volta. There is one in every forum.

I found an 09 Eastern ace of spades for sale for 150 dollars, is that a good price? the bike is apparently in mint condition and i will be seeing it before i purchase it. the only real thing that concerns me is that i am 5 foot 10 inches and weigh 220lbs. would i be too big for this bike?

hey. im about to go get a new bike. im 6'3. and i weigh 155lbs. i have decided to either get the 2012 Stolen Sinner, or the 2012 Kink Transition. They both cost 439.00 on Dans Comp. I think i like the Kink better but haven't seen any reviews. Please let me know what you think. i can spend a little more or a little less. if there is something better than those in the same price range. i just want a quality intermediate bike. i dont care what it looks like. i also need atleast a 20.75 top tube.

I'm glad you've done your homework and know a bit about what you want haha. Personally, I'd go for the Stolen. Nothing against Kink, because a long while back I was looking at getting a complete, but lately I've been more into Stolen's stuff. Really, its all up to you. They're both like the exact same bike, so it mostly comes down to which color/look you really like better.

I'm a total noob so please go easy. I want to get a 20" bike for very/ramp and freestyle only. I was looking at Craig's List and found

As far as a budget, I'd rather NOT go over $200. I'm not sure what to look for in a bike other than the 20" frames are better. I know theres a pretty big difference in price there but just looking at overall quality and what I'm intending to use if for...which one would be better or both about the same as far as performance.

Any help would be of great appreciation.

Looks like they'll both be about the same. Which isn't really all too great, considering. The cheaper one is actually a bit better, because it has a 3 piece crank. But at that price it could be stolen, so be careful

Yeah, the cheaper one just sold. I'm assuming that a if the Yellow Haro indeed does have a 1 piece crank...that because its a Haro, it can be replaced with a 3 piece? I was also looking at:

preferably at the chrome Mongoose. The owner is at Knotfest in Wisconsin so now I have to wait to check it out tomorrow($!@$%$*#&). I'll have to check to see if it has a 3 piece.

How much should I expect to pay for a 3 piece crank, out of curiosity?


Also, I was in a bike shop today and they had some new BMX/Freestyle bikes in there with pretty meaty tires. When I say 'meaty' I mean they looked like bigger tires overall, not like the bump dirty bike tires or anything like that. Are those needed for Freestyle or are those strictly dirt track tires? In addition, whats the need for the bigger meaty tires anyways?

That has a 1pc crank too. 3 piece is just stronger, and easier to replace if something does break. You can check out prices on them here. The big tires are more for impact absorption and grip than anything else. The tread pattern will determine what it should be used for. If its more slick, its street/park oriented. Knobby is more for dirt.

Thanks for the link for the cranks. Now I'm thinking maybe I should start looking at new....the current market for used bikes in my area is 'Slim to s**t bikes'.....well, maybe I can turn my EX-gf's engagment ring into something 'rideable' tomorrow....

If you're going to go the brand new route, you won't get anything even halfway decent for $200. Even on the low end, you're going to be looking closer to double that. And anything thats actually quality and will last a lot longer, especially important for being a beginner, you'll be looking at like $6-700.

Quickie BMX noob question here. I usually ride road bikes, but I've been curious about getting into BMX bikes. (at 37 years old, I'm not sure this is a safe thing to get into, you only live once, right?)

I also work at a bike shop that has some 2012 Mirracos in stock, like the Detroit, Edit, and so on. I'm a beginner at this, but being from Michigan, I was thinking of picking up the Detroit using my employee discount. Any opinions on it?

Not a bad bike, especially if you can get it discounted. Just make sure you can get the proper length TT. And you're never too old to learn something new.
