Noob looking for dirt/street bike

Hi, I'm looking for a bike that I will use for dirt/trails, street and maybey a little jumping. I know you guys hate these threads but I'm realy confused what is a "good" bike. My price range is around $200-$270, I know alot of you think bikes in this price range are trash but it's all I can afford. I only way about 104 lbs. so I'm guessing frame strength won't be a huge issue but I don't know. The bikes I am considering are the dk Step Up, General Lee, Cincinnati and Redline RL series. I also like the mongoose brawler and dk eight pack but I'm not sure on the quality or the weight of these bikes. This will be my first real bmx bike so any help will be appreciated.

The DK Eight-Pack would probably be your best bet out of those choices.

Street rider 07-27-08 06:23 PM

8 pack.

InsaneBOB 07-27-08 06:24 PM

How much does the eight pack weigh, will the eight pack's weight be an issue for some minor/medium jumping?

gnr rocker 07-27-08 06:26 PM

weight dont matter

Street rider 07-27-08 06:27 PM

pointless to worry about stock weight. eventually youll swap the heavy stock parts for lighter, better ones.

gnr rocker 07-27-08 06:28 PM

i want to build a 40 pound bike

Street rider 07-27-08 06:37 PM

hahaha. you and sean burns could be best friends. last time i read an interview with him, he said that his bike weighs like 31 or 32 lbs.

what about the brawler or step up, any thoughts on those?

Punx 07-27-08 07:57 PM

I was just wondering what your thoughts are on MirraCo bikes? I was looking at the Icon Intro, option and Signature signature. Are these bikes any better than the dk eight pack, cause the option has 4130 cromo.

InsaneBOB 07-28-08 07:51 PM

Hey guys, I just want to here some opinians, thanks.

Street rider 07-28-08 07:57 PM

on the mirraco bikes? eh. some of em look decent. others dont. throw up some links of the ones that you want us to give an opinion on.

InsaneBOB 07-28-08 08:13 PM

Here are some links to the bikes:

PRIMO22 07-28-08 08:14 PM

Out of those I would go with the option.

InsaneBOB 07-28-08 08:25 PM

Cool, that was what I was thinking too, but would you choose it over the dk eight pack?

PRIMO22 07-28-08 08:36 PM

That's up to you really. Whichever one you like better they have specs that are similar.

Street rider 07-28-08 08:53 PM

Motooooooo. looks way cleaner than the option. and the option doesnt have a full chromo frame/fork, and the moto does.

InsaneBOB 07-28-08 09:10 PM

So the both have quality chomo, just the moto has more? Any other reasons the moto is a better bike?
