22.2 Seatposts???
Hey squad... I'm not a BMXer but I was looking for a really long 22.2 post. I see that many of the BMX posts are the dimensions I'm after, but how does one mount a seat to the top of this post... is it like a plug on?
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.

The seats used to have a pivoting clamp attached to them that you slid onto the post and tightened down. Little kids bikes tend to still have the clamp.

You need a seat with rails on the underside, and a clamp like this:
https://www.amazon.com/standard-saddl...6378157&sr=1-3
The rails of the seat go in the bits on the side, and the seat post goes through the middle, then you tighten up that one long bolt running through the whole contraption and bob's your uncle. Make sure you get one that fits both the diameter of your post and the diameter of your seat rails (which can vary) -- so don't buy a clamp till you have a seat.
Railed seats and clamps should be easy enough to find anywhere that's also selling plain 7/8" posts. Your local bike shop probably has a box of the clamps out the back somewhere for when they're servicing kids bikes. Often the seats will come with a clamp packaged if not already attached.
These types of seats/posts haven't been used in BMX for ages. If you go into a BMX shop looking for these you'll probably get a lot of wtfs. However if you go into a normal bike shop that doesn't have much to do with BMX, and ask for a plain 7/8" seat post, they'll probably go "oh like a BMX one?".

Kep in mind, they ( 22.2 or 7/8's ) all bend ... if raised tooo high . ... & for the price thats BS . Just get some "black pipe" from lowes or home depo . : o) ... they also bend, but cheaper to replace.
The clamps are a dime a dozen @ your mom & pop LBS ... Your "bling" LBS wont have them .
