Need some advise
Hello everyone, i need some suggestions on what i should do. I recently bought a BMX bike from a shop in town. It's a Diamondback Grind don't know the year but if i were to guess 2001? What they didn't tell me was that it is "ment for smaller riders" or so some sites have said. Now i'm not very big, i'm about 5'6" and 160lbs. It rides ok, my knees are a little close to the handle bars though. Should i look for a different frame?

Take the bike back and get one that fits. The Grind is a squash frame 20". This is typically what I reccomend for riders stuck in between a 16 and 20". Too big for a 16" but too small for a 20". At your height a standard 20" wheel BMX bike is what you need.

I can't bring it back, the place is kind of like a pawn shop. So i can either sell it back to them at a way lower price then what i paid for or i sell the bike and buy a different one or get a different frame i guess.

your knees hitting the handle bars doesnt have to do with the wheel size, it has to do with the length of the toptube. if your only 5'6 and have problems with your knees hitting you might have a 19.5 inch toptube. go to a bike shop and try sitting on a 20 or even a 20.5 in and see what feels better.

Stem length can make a huge difference. Before you switch bikes, try finding a stem with longer reach.

I couldn't tell you what reach you're looking for. In general, few BMX stems state their reach. The average seems to be just over 5cm. It might be that you can't find a longer stem. Take the current stem off your bike and compare them to other stems when you're shopping.
A laid-back seat post is a horrible idea. It will only increase room when you're sitting down. they also bend very easily.

I would raise the handle bars and the seat=P Works for me cause if i just bought it i wouldent spend more on it
