Save up to upgrade then paint? Or paint now?
So I'm picking up one of the few remaining Volume Sledgehammer's from my LBS. The only color they could get is the blue with white parts.
What I want to do is have all the parts that are white (wheels, hubs, stem, handlebar, cranks, powder coated a neon yellow/highlighter yellow.
But I started to think, should I even bother spending the money to have them powder coated If I may end up replacing them down the line? Would the parts even need to be replaced? Are the stock components decent for a while? I really don't know what the cost would be to change things like cranks, stems, handlebars, hubs and wheels either. Thats going to be a major factor in my decision. So what is everyone's thoughts? Should I take the time and money to dissasemble the bike now, and have it powdercoated (cost-approx $150) OR gradually accumulate nicer components then have them powdercoated (cost-not sure)
