Haro F4 or F3...

Sorry guys and gals but now i have decided to cut down my list of what bikes to get... right now its a haro. It looks good and its parts are pretty good enough for me. I want to know which of the F's are the best. aroudn 200-300 dollar zone *US MOneY* I would perfer if it was sealed because it should last me longer. It doesnt say on the product details if its sealed or not. My plan is to get a Haro F something (the best one reasonable to my money) and get a DK later on when i have more money. Thanks for all your help.

P.S I looked at the F3 Mag of Haro and that is a nO NO cuz no offence but i dun liek the wheel looks.

I have the F3 (Black) and it holds up pretty good for me. But the F4 and F5 are cool, considering I saw the F5 for $369. But the F3 or F4 if you asked me.

The F4 is a better bike - it will cost more than the F3 but has the following design enhancements that make it better:

1. It uses sealed cartridge bearings in the bottom bracket which will help the cranks run smoother for longer.

2. It uses downdrive on the freewheel which accomodates the 14 tooth freewheel. This means you are running something like 36/14 gearing instead of the larger, heavier, 44/16 gearing that comes on the F3.

3. It has hollow axles which help to reduce weight, and are likely of a higher quality than the F3 axles.

4. It has better grade of handlebars.

5. It has a MUCH better grade of 3-piece cranks. The tubular 3-piece cranks have received favorable reviews from every rider I have ever heard using them (except one who didn't know how to use a wrench). The FORGED cranks on the other hand I have heard of about half a dozen riders breaking them.

6. It comes with front and rear brakes, which is a plus in my opinion for versatility.

7. The wheelset is so-so. In fact, since it doesn't have chrome rims, your brakes will probably be piss-poor unless you clean them every day. The very first thing you will want to do after getting this bike and riding it for a while is upgrade to some good chrome plated RIMS. There is no need to change anything else out right away.

8. The hubs are not sealed, this isn't a 'good' thing, but you can live with it for a while. Maybe when you replace the rims, that will be the time to get some sealed hubs. But new rims are upwards of $150.00, so be sure you are serious at that point.

NOTE: The DK Cincinnati at www.danscomp.com -> BIKES ->DK is available for $220.00. This is a very comparable bike. Add shipping of about $25.00 and you are talking about $245.00 for the bike shipped to your door. You (or your dad) then have to assemble a few things on the bike for it to be ready to go. But, that is a complete bike similar to the F4 for under $250.00

If you can't find the F4 for close to $250.00 then DO NOT BUY THE F3 instead! It really is not nearly as good as the F4 or the Cincinnati. The F4 or the Cincinnati are both significantly better than the F3. With the Cincinnati you also have a price point you should be shooting for when you are in a bike shop. Keep in mind that the bike shop Haro will be fully assembled and the bike shop should offer to 'tune it free' or give you some extra perks. So if you end up paying $300.00 you at least will have a bike you can ride that same day.
