the gyro is the oryg, oryg i believe i believe is the company. that thing is just what brings the brake cables together. if you look closely oryg is gyro backwards. everything on the trek is chromoly

HOFFMAN DISRUPTER IL1 #101308 $369.99
that is a pretty good bike for the money. as mentioned before, your only going to be able to purchase a low end bike for that amount of money. but it will go a long ways if you take care of it. keep stuff tight and well greased.
the frame and fork are 4130, has 14mm axles. what more could you want?

I recommend the KHE beater with a crank upgrade. The only one of your qualifications it doesnt have is the System DiaTech internal rotor instead of a oryg or a gyro

do not get a KHE. you will never figure out how to get the rear brakes to work.
and light bikes cost money. just think, kids 10 years ago didn't have light bikes and it didn't stop them from riding well.

KHE has a HUGE head tube and the detangler is inside it. most people can't get them to work worth a poop without messing with them a bunch.
that hoffman I mentioned is not bad at all. if will hold up well, if you take care of it. you can learn peg tricks without the axles breaking and learn some good riding skills while not destroying expensive parts. then, once you have some good skills you will have a better idea of what parts/bike will work for you and your style of riding.
and don't worry about the weight of it. it will help you get stronger. do you think the guys in the gym lift light weights to get strong? no, they lift heavy weights.....
