If you are a beginner, then definitely get the DK Signal which is less expensive and very, VERY respectable and respected within the flatland community.

If you are looking for better completes and have money burning a hole in your pocket go to www.flatlandfuel.com - tell them BMXTRIX sent you their way - and pick any bike they have, except NOT KHE.

But, really, I would strongly recommend the Signal as a great bike to go with for your first 1-2 years of riding. You can upgrade some stuff on it, like the tires, and brakes... switch to some really good 3-piece cranks (profiles) stuff like that along the way if you want, but still be riding and learning some serious flatland as you go.

The off-standard head tube with internal gyro is the only reason. It is commonly referred to by pros as the coke can head tube. It is a good idea of a product, that does NOT work well and is very hard to maintain and does not actually WORK well. It's a lot to spend on a bike that you can't replace the detangler or get a decent headset for.

Every other - and I mean EVERY other flatland bike on flatlandfuel is respectable. There is simply no crap there at all. But, I won't change my recommendation. The best way to build a bike is to know what you like and what you don't like. The best way to do that is to ride a bike and find out. So, buy the least expensive that works, then upgrade. The problem with $500.00+ completes, is that if you aren't happy with THEIR 3-piece cranks, then you have to still dish out $150.00 for some Profiles (or something similar) and you have an extra set of 3-piece cranks you aren't using.

Once you know flatland and can work on your bike well, and have some idea of what you like and don't like about your bike, then you start getting the parts you know you will have for a long time. Maybe some new bars that are lower... or higher. Or better brakes. Or maybe a really kick ass wheelset. Almost no bike comes with a really, really killer wheelset. Well, the Hoffman Momentum does, but that's still not a cheap bike either.

Any choice but KHE and I personally ride Ares and swear by them as a company.

Alright thanks BMXTRIX, ill get the dk signal becasue your right man, you dont want to spend $600 on something and then turns out its crap or u dont like something and need to spend more. The dk signal is a good price too, if i need to upgrade it i can, when i get more experience and know what i want i can build a bike like you said. thanks again.

Hey BMXTRIX so should I get it from flatland fuel or we got a local bike shop that might have it, which would be better or it doesn't matter?

FlatlandFuel does not assemble the bike for you completely. So, if you feel comfortable with a wrench, or are willing to pay a local shop to put it together, then get it from them.

But, mark the price down and then ask your local shop how much it would cost for that specific bike from them fully assembled. If they can't get it, ask them how much it would cost you for them to assemble it.

Finally, it only takes about 30 minutes to an hour to assemble a 'complete' bike that comes in a box. Not a CUSTOM bike, but a complete bike. You just have to put the bars on, the wheels, pedals, and a few other things. You don't have to put the brakes together or anything crazy like that, and you can ask for help.

When I buy, I almost exclusively use flatlandfuel because of their pricing and an excellent owner that is focussed on flatland.

The KHE, if it had a normal head tube would be an excellent value in a bike.

The bars are all pesonal preference, but the Unique bars are actually a bar/stem combo that is not zero offset, but minimal offset. It actually is a really good idea and the photos don't really do the bars justice. Perhaps still a little weird of a design, but KHE does make some good parts and they have some good ideas. But, NOT making frames with normal head tubes is stupid on their part. Poor judgement I would say.
