What is my bike worth?

I used to race BMX when I was a kid (9-13). Three of those four years, I had a Redline Proline Expert. I think it was $450ish new. I still have it now & with a light tune-up, I would say it's condition is a 3.5 out of 5. I've gotten into mountain biking & am constantly on the prowl for a good used mountain bike to replace my dad's 12 year old Schwinn, & as such I'm trying to sell the Redline. Does anyone have a clue how much I should ask for it? I'd take it to the local shop but I'm afraid they'll tell me something like "Oh it's only worth $75 but we'll give you a $100 discount on a new mountain bike for it." & then sell it back for twice what I got.

Search ebay for completed auctions of your bike or similar bikes. Should give you a good idea.

a 2000 redline? umm try craigslist reader as well, it helps to narrow a market price down, ebays prices are better for auction price, not BIN, which only reflect what the person thought/wanted it to be worth.

just off the top of my head, 100-175 bucks, depending on how it looks/works.

Got any pics? Also try the local race track.
