it took me a long time but i finally completed my 11 pound bmx build
and now i want to sell it.
how much do you think a good price for it would be

fuji86 06-04-11 05:23 AM

I'd keep it, unless you really need the money for paying bills ? Don't think anyone ever gets what they put into one, unless it's a brand new, unused bike out of a business and there's profit built into it ? Rule of retail, double the costs, maybe even pad the profit margin ?

wethepeople 06-04-11 11:16 AM

Thats not 11 pounds...

barturtle 06-04-11 06:00 PM

If you've only got 11 Pounds into it, maybe you can make a profit and get 20 Pounds or so for it.

I was skeptical of 11 lbs too, would want to see it on an accurate 3rd party maintained scale for myself. But it does look like a very nice bmx. Never know though, it could be an aluminum frame ?

michaelscycles 06-05-11 12:03 PM

I don't believe it either. Maybe 21 pounds. It has u-brakes, so I'm guessing it's not an aluminum race frame which would still put it well over 11 pounds. Even if you put helium in the tires it's going to weigh more then that.

Pics of it on a scale or gtfo. Note his username is bluff.....

The wheels weigh probably 6 lbs themselves, 4 for the frame, 2 for the forks, 2 for the cranks, 3 for the bars and stem and maybe 2-3 for everything else. Doesn't add up to 11 lbs

tyler11 06-06-11 08:35 PM

yea its not 11lbs
my frined has a race bike with chris kings and an aluminum frame and just about ti everything you can get and his is like 15
but then again bluffey up there has a what looks to be a 16t f/w witch makes it 4 pounds lighter

pssshhh....16t freewheel is actually -6lbs ...you obviously dont know your way around a bike. specially since u over looked the obvious...that little sticker on the front is actually the most important component at -12lbs.

lol on a serious note i didnt even notice the screwed up gearing till you said that

I_Suck_At_BMX 06-07-11 09:20 PM

even if you dont have a scale to take a fudged reading to try to fool us, i would LOVE to see the list of components.

Nemetchek 06-08-11 08:44 AM

Maybe you meant 11 kgs?

CMcMahon 06-09-11 02:38 PM

$5 shipped.

LarDasse74 06-09-11 07:16 PM

White cable housing is -2lbs per foot.
Even with only the one brake set up that way he is -20lbs!

fasteddy774 06-10-11 02:54 PM

nice

Decepticondc5 06-12-11 10:00 PM

****ty troll is ****ty

Kimmo 06-17-11 12:20 AM

LOL. That's so not a genuine weight weenie's bike.

Street rider 06-17-11 08:02 PM

If he didn't confuse lbs and kg, and re was serious about this, I feel a trip to see him, with a swift kick to the teeth is in order. Also note that he's only posted one time....

gnarface1 07-02-11 03:53 PM

11lbs is a lie, i have a **** load of titanium in my bike and it weighs like 20.
