Handlebars move when bunny hoppin
Hey. My son recently purchased a Diamondback Grind and has developed a problem with the handlebars moving every time he pulls up and lands a bunny hop. We tightened down the clamp around the bar and made sure that the clamp was evenly tightened around the bar. He is getting very frustrated with the bike and wants new handlebars and other related parts because of this problem. The bike is only a couple months old.
Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, bassman. |
Diamondback's are not that good, and the Grind is a cheaper one. So you know it has to have cheap parts. If it has been moving very much, it has probably worn away some of the stem or worn off the knurling on the bars. Only real way to fix it is new bars and stem. You might get by with one or the other, but if you do and get the wrong one, it could ruin the new part. There are a few things that you can try, but none ever seem to work and usually make it worse.

Super glue it. Slather some liquid nails alllllllll over it. Never have movement again!

Thanks for your quick reply. Even though the bike has just about 24 hrs of riding time things are already messed up?

Are you serious or just messing with me? Thanks, bassman11lb |
Sorry for the sarcasm. Been spending too much time in the ssfg forum, apparently.
