I'm in the BMX forum cuz I wanna go parading around and acting all anti-establishment like skaters. I really just want the shoes for the image.

I gotta say: If you are tight on cash check out eBay. You get a ton of trendy kids who buy off size or something they like for a month, then get rid of. You can usually pick up a good pair of vans, airwalk, etnies, etc. for under 20 bucks and they are brand new. If you go through shoes and actually use them for what they are for, then it's a good way to use your cash wisely.
Also, check your local Marshall's or Ross (if you have them) and look for $15.00 closeouts on sneakers as they very rarely have them, but when they do, the price is almost always great.
I won't ever spend $40.00 on a pair of shoes again. I'm riding some DC shoes right now that I got, brand new, for $10.00 from Ross. Original (ie: Dans) price was $65.00 for them.

Pumas scuff too easily, leading to gang violence.
The only shoes that I've ever ridden in are Reeboks (from way back when), Vans (which have the weakest soles and suede, ever), and Etnies (which always stand up to the abuse - I ride almost everyday in my Vallely's and I walk around all day on weekends, and I still only go through two or three pairs a year).
