Hi all,

I need a bit of advice, Im 31, I have a 4 year old boy who is mad about scootering. I live in the UK and regularly visit my local outdoor skate park and watch my son ride around. I want to get myself a BMX and give it a try so it will be something we can do together. I have a budget of £500, I am 6 feet tall and weigh 14 Stone. Just wanna know what complete BMX's you guys would suggest?

Thanks for any advice

Andy

I know that Redline makes frame and completes with pretty long top-tubes. Are you looking to ride or race? Also what size a 20", 24" or 26"?

Being that tall, find a bike that has a TT length of at least 21". How much does that budget end up being in USD?

If the OP's budget of 500 is in British Pounds (GBP), then according to the conversion to USD at coinmill.com, then that would be $796.10.

Well considering your budget is fairly liberal you should focus on getting a BMX that is your size much bigger than most off the show room floor models. You will need a bike with a heavier better built 22" or 23" frame the majority of BMX's are 18" or19" frames made for kids not larger adults. For your purposes you want a competition vert model considering your size and budget.

Wrong. 'Most bikes are 18" or 19"' is horse****. The 'standard' is 20.5, and at 6 ft tall, all he would need is a 21", 21.5" tops.
