I suppose you could say they do. but not really.

I like and use ODI longnecks. but I could ride with just about anything if they weren't really wacky. some people like thinner grips, and some like thicker grips. I have small hands so thick grips make it hard for me to hold on. so you could say that the thinner grips i use make a difference because I can actually hold onto my bars...
