What is the best bike for a starter in bmx

Please guys, wat is the best bike for a stater like me, am 18years old, i want a bike which i can use for a long time and which i can use to perform trick and do jumps. But i dnt like a fixed gear bike. Please i need your help. I will be glad if you send me pictures of the bike

Street rider 11-25-12 10:04 AM

You already started a thread for this, keep it to one.

But since I'm here:
Whats your budget?
How tall are you?
What type of riding do you want to do on the bike?

And this is the BMX forum, you've already asked about a BMX bike in your other thread, why the hell did you bring up a fixed gear? That was never part of any discussion...

Cjval 11-26-12 06:16 PM

Am sorry about the double threads. Am about five and half feet tall, i need a good bike which i can perform trick and do jumps

Street rider 11-26-12 06:26 PM

Again, you're not giving a lot to work with at all. Street riding? Dirt?

And as far as sizing, you should look for something with a 20.5-20.75 inch top tube.

Cjval 11-27-12 05:55 PM

Street ride

Cjval 11-27-12 06:07 PM

Please don't be mad at me, i just don't realy no anything about bmx. I choose street riding, and thanks for your responds, i appreciat.

Street rider 11-28-12 12:23 AM

I don't know why you would assume I'm mad. You're just not giving us a hell of a lot to work with. For street, there are tons of different bikes available that will suit your needs. Whats your budget?

Cjval 11-29-12 05:48 AM

I said, i dont no anything about bmx...., Ok what are the things you need that can help you know the suitable bike for me?

Cjval 11-29-12 05:53 AM

I dont realy care about the price, i just need the best bike

Street rider 11-29-12 08:23 AM

Are there places local to you that sell BMX bikes? Or at least a website that's fairly local? Otherwise I'm going to link you to sites in the US, and shipping will most likely make you want to rip your eyeballs out.

Cjval 11-30-12 10:48 AM

yah i do no where they sell bmx bikes. the problem is that i dont no the type of bike to buy

Street rider 11-30-12 04:56 PM

What brands does the shop sell?

Cjval 12-02-12 05:08 AM

I don't know bmx bike brands. Just tell me the suitable one for me then i will go and get it

Street rider 12-02-12 10:29 AM

The shop isn't going to sell every single brand of bike. Just give them a call and find out what they sell. Then I can actually give you a recommendation that makes sense. This really isn't that hard...

From Where?
Go to the Local Bike shop and buy thru them, they know bikes and you don't, so use their expertise .

at a certain Price point brands don't matter as much, since all production is in big factories making several Brands
under different contracts , with various importing Distributors.

OK i'll throw out one: Red Line, Seattle Bike Supply is the US distributor.

Thats really not helping, honestly. The guy is ever so slowly giving the information that is needed to help him make a good purchase, and then you throw out a brand that is much more typically associated with racing. He already said he wanted to ride street. And telling him about a US distributor is pretty much useless, because he is clearly not from the 'Merica. He said he's 18, and English clearly is not his native language.

From what I've gathered checking out craigslists across the country, nearly every one has at least one nice BMX Bike for around $200. For some of the bikes (FBMs, Kinks, that's pretty amazing pricing for the frame).

Send out emails and go ride some. Bring cash.

Your best best is to visit several local bike shops and discuss with them what you will be using the bike for, how much money you can spend (I know you said price isn't important, but when you actually see the bike prices, you will probably change your mind on that), proper sizing, a warranty where a competent bike mechanic can perform maintenance and repairs etc.

Its like no one reads a full thread anymore. I told him to go to shops and whatnot. Mostly to see what brands they would carry so I could make a real recommendation, and he hasn't come back with that information. So either the kid was just way too impatient to wait for the answers that he was setting the pace for, or (and I'm really hoping that this wasn't the case at all) he got bored of trolling. Really hope not.

Ok, so we'll start at square one. What type of riding do you intend to do? Street, dirt, vert, park, racing?

Cjval 05-31-13 11:48 AM

I prefer your type, street riding

Street rider 06-01-13 08:51 AM

Ok. Are there any shops near you that sell BMX bikes?

Cjval 06-01-13 02:54 PM

I thought the place i saw was a bmx store, but i was wrong. Actually, i have made research, but i couldn't find any, so there is noon in my country

Street rider 06-03-13 01:13 PM

Have you found any online sources who are somewhat close to you who would ship without making you pay an arm and a leg?
