The correct answer really is 'No' it's not that great.

But, is it a good value? That totally depends on what you are paying for it. If the bike is very cheap (VERY!) then yes, it is fine and will introduce you to riding and you won't be bummed if you trash it some.

But if you pay to much, then you should look at getting a current entry level bike as bmx technology progresses, entry level bikes take advantage of new designs to become higher and higher quality for your dollar. But, an inexpensive used bike is a great way to get started now for the cash you have at hand.

The answer is, for how much you paid - the bike totally rules all. My happiness to dollar ratio is much lower than yours.
