BMX rear suspension mod
Okay so I have this dk box frame and I've been wanting to modify it to a full suspension frame, I've looked around a lot for some kind of kit or parts but haven't found anything :crash:. If there is really nothing out there I could always do it myself and I've had some ideas like a pivot point that attaches to the bb spline. Anyway any help would be nice thanks.

Why not just buy a full suspension frame thats designed to take 20" wheels? This here is a case of taking something very simple, over thinking it, and asking about a process that would completely destroy the frame.
The correct answer here is n+1. You'll have a BMX bike and a tiny MTB (although, why the hell would you want such a small full suspension bike? It almost defeats the purpose.) |
Yes I have looked for some but they're all crap and I wanna use this for short dh mountain rides dirt jumps and skatepark haven't really found A nice medium

For DJ and skatepark, the answer is in the bike you already have. BMX. Full suspension would be awful in a park. And really, the frame would be so small as to be uncomfortable for downhill. And those tiny wheels wouldn't roll through obstacles/debris at all.
So like I said, the true answer is n+1, BMX for fun stuff, MTB for different fun stuff. |
Really, the only "good" option here would be to find one of the late '90s Spooky frames with rear suspension. Can't say that I remember the name of the frame, but I definitely remember seeing it in Trend ads around '98 or '99.

Perhaps you want a full suspension Mountain bike by now .. save up a bunch of money..
Starting price: a good FS bike is over a Grand. BMX racing is an up out of the saddle sprint over jumps and stuff, your suspension has Shoes on the bottom of them... your legs.. |
Tru, guess ill have to save up for a hardtail.
