Mindless Eating by Brian Wansink. Very interesting experiments about how people eat too much without thinking about it. Just eating til you're not hungry instead of eating til you're full can probably save most people 5lbs a year.

Am currently reading Why Dogs Chase Cars by George Singleton. Am also critiquing a draft of a friend's novel, but that's a different thing altogether. Next on the list is something (anything) by Cormac McCarthy.

The Road to Reality : A Complete Guide to the Laws of the Universe by Roger Penrose

Not an easy read. I am guessing it will take me at least 6 months to a year to finish it (and I normally finish novels in a few hours). Deep math, deep physics and the little math (Calculus II+) and Physics I know is wholly inadequate. Time to break out Richard Feynmans Lecture's in Physics to give me some basic knowledge.

Ender's Shadow - Orson Scott Card
Shadow of the Hegemon - Orson Scott Card
Shadow Puppets - Orson Scott Card
Pastwatch The redemption of Christopher Columbus - Orson Scott Card

Amazing books, amazing writing, pastwatch almost made me cry (and its a sci-fi book for chrissakes) (he also wrote the Ender series of sci-fi books).

Jean-Claude Izzo - Chourmo

Part of the Marseilles Trilogy, interesting detective stories set in Marseilles with socio-political overtones.

Nope, I've just always read fast since I was a kid. I remember reading LOTR as a kid and since I had to give it back to a friend the next day I read it in about 12-14 hours (stayed up all night).

Just finished The Emperor of Scent by Chandler Burr and The Secret of Scent by Luca Turin.

Currently reading I am a Strange Loop by Douglas Hofstadter. I'm a bit disappointed with this one.
