i prefer. love 'em both. always thought 'deserted cities of the heart' and 'politician' from wheels of fire were overlooked.
'please read the letter' from raising sand...seemingly beautifully simply succinct
not listening to anything right now... strange.
but have found Immigrant Song by Karen O of Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Trent Reznor
from the trailer for Girl with the Dragon Tatoo pretty intriguing.
My last two downloads were the digital reissues of John Hartford's Aeroplane and Morning Bugle. Then I see that I downloaded The Bangles new single, which I'll confess to enjoying. I have tickets to see Crooked Still tomorrow!
Edited later to add that Crooked Still was Phenomenal show!

I have an I-Pod Shuffle, so mine is an eclectic mix of rock, soul, alternative, and folk. To be specific Match-box 20, Billie Holliday, Gaelic Storm and a bunch of others in this same vein:-) Keeps me on my toes and the tempo is a motivator!
I must go down to the seas again
to the vagrant gypsy life
To the gull’s way and the whale’s way
where the wind’s like a whetted knife
And all I ask is a merry yarn
from a laughing fellow-rover
And quiet sleep and a sweet dream
when the long trick’s over.
