Man, I used to love Cocteau Twins... like in the early 90's. I wasn't even aware they still made albums. I will have to check it out.

I'm now listening to Black Eyed Peas. I love that song "Shut Up". It's the coolest.

Kelly Preston also redid a Chaka Khan song- "Ain't Nobody" for the movie "Bringin' Down the House" with Steve Martin and Queen Latifah. That's a great soundtrack, but I love that song best.

Nope, can't say I really follow them. I was way into them earlier last year, but I haven't listened to a song of theirs since about ten or eleven months ago. Just felt like **** tonight and decided to put it on to see if it'd help any.

Anyway:

The Pine - Lead Blocks for Feet 12"

This band is too good.

That's a really good song. A friend of mine put it on the Hip-Hop mixtape he made me.

Just a couple more before bed...

Sheryl's Magnetic Aura - Like You Mean It 7"
Moss Icon - Lybernum Wit's End Liberation Front 12"
Envy - All the Footprints You've Left Behind and the Fear Expecting Ahead (MP3s)

I've recorded the Sheryl's Magnetic Aura 7" to MP3 and uploaded it to my server if any of you want to check it out. It was their first release, right after Jarvis (vocals/guitar) started college, but I guess the band's been around since his high school years. Haven't recorded much until recently, since all the members were involved in very active Hardcore/Punk bands (Books Lie, I Am the Resurrection, etc), but all of those bands are broken up now. Sheryl's is definitely way different from their other bands...if you dig Indie Rock or poppier Punk you may like it. They're called Meneguar now, and have a significantly different sound (although still fun and in the realm of Punk/Indie). Sorry if some of the stuff sounds like it was recorded badly...my sound card is a piece of ****, and the needle on my turntable needs to be replaced soon.

The title refers to an Elvis LP. "50,000,000 Elvis fans can't be wrong" was vol.2 of a 4 volume greatest hits series!

In the player:

Jesus & Mary Chain - Barbed Wire Kisses
Joy Division - Substance and Unknown Pleasures
Smiths - Strangeways Here We Come
Pixies - Doolittle and Death To The Pixies disc#2
Interpol - Antics

A heavy phase of nostalgia. Nostalgic for the comforting womb of college where the gov't seemed so far away and you could give people the finger and not get fired. Ok Interpol's recent, but everyone knows it's The Return of Ian.
