The band that you hate and that wherever you go someone always seems to be playing the CD? That shaky voice that won't stop gnawing out your eyeballs? For me, that's Bright Eyes, specifically Conor's voice. I have similar feelings about Stephen Meritt, but I'll shut up before I get beat up by the indie kids.

Geeze, Gilby, maybe would should have had this correspondence via PM since all the sensitive types have blown this whole thing out of proportion.

Nevertheless, I see your point. I like Conor's voice, for it reminds me of Paul Westerberg's voice who made all of mid- to late-teens and early twenties a whole lot less lonely and miserable. Conor's a decent song writer, too. I first heard of him in the lately Vanity Fair, of all places. Apparently the Big People of High Opinion have caught on and proclaimed Conor the new Dylan. Silly, I know. Yet I picked up their new e.p.'s and really like them. The one single Lua also happens to describe a certain hard love relationship for me.

****, you are also right about he indie kids beating you up. I am surprised them haven't come out with their crosses and a stake to burn you on and a scarlett letter to emblazen on your chest. Damn indie kids ruin everything!

Listening to the Seatbelts now for a little bit as a breather before I give my new mix a final listen. Once I'm satisfied, it'll be on a disc and out the door in no time.

Braid - Frame and Canvas 12"
Heroin - Self-Titled 12"
Second Story Window - Self-Titled 12"
Clikatat Ikatowi - Orchestrated and Conducted By... 12", River of Souls 12", August 29th + 30th 1995 12"

I haven't listened to Clikatat Ikatowi's output in a long time. Thanks for reminding me, Crust & Crumb. The demo tape fk'n destroys almost every song they ever released.
