the switch maybe 4/10? Not good, but not bad. Not sure if I'd call it a waste of my time or not.

Kiss of Death- 7 easy watching black and white 1947 gangster film with Richard Widmark, Victor Mature. There are no explosions, fireballs, or scenes where shootings need to show blood, brain matter, or guts splattered on the wall.

Battle: Los Angeles

good basic war movie without offending any race; religion or nationality. about as good as Saving Private Ryan (which was over rated but had a better and more interesting cast)

Cave of Forgotten Wet Dreams (3D) directed by Werner Hedgehog

French impressionists hanging out in caves 30,000 years ago doing portraits of the local wildlife.

Werner adds a quirky bit of eccentricity and turns what would be a boring documentary into an enjoyable hour and halfs viewing.

8/10

Just watched The Girl in the Cafe. Pretty decent overall, if a bit slow getting going. Definitely a political call to arms piece.

7.5/10

More motivating than you'd expect from a trippy movie. Probably not that hard to follow, either. 8/10.

Spartacus Season 1 Disc 1 - 8/10

As you'd expect, a lot like '300' and Gladiator.

Hall Pass
4/10
A mindless way to spend a couple of hours. Some good laughs but some cheap ones too.

Just saw the new and the old trons over the weekend. The new one is more visually appealing, but there's no substance there at all. It felt like someone wanted an excuse to bring Jeff Bridges' "the Dude" into a sci fi movie. Still Olivia Wilde is pretty enough and the effects were kind of cool.

Zombieland

Wonderfully shot, but didn't find myself enjoying it as much as Shaun of the Dead. I never had a sense of danger for the characters in Zombieland that I get in other zombie movies. Definitely worth seeing though.

Got me into it, but only because I was upset at the choices Marky Mark was making. Maybe 7/10

The Lives of Others 9/10

A tremendously powerful film. After I watched it the first time, I immediately watched it again.

also ghost writer with ewan mcgregor & pierce brosnan. a sneaky and covert 9 for me. liked it better the 2nd time.
too many subtleties to fully appreciate & absorb the first time. a fantastic use of gray shades in the movie which
subliminally eliminates a need to characterize/categorize 'black & white' cast. nice low-key, but nonetheless impressive, scenery too.

Women's Roller Derby in Texas. What's not to like? Especially if you like Ellen Page.
