Attack The Block, simple, well-done, fun movie. I could have used a subtitle here and there. Big toofy aliens an' tha', innit? Recommended.

Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon 1/2 a star.
This movie is so mindless that Dark of the Mooness should become a synonym for a complete lack of understanding of everything. The screenwriters didn't understand how the moon works, how the Apollo lunar lander works, how gravity works, and how plot and characterization work.

tarantino's-grindhouse: deathproof-8.5.

But judging by the $1,123,196,189 that the movie made so far, they seem to understand what the audience wants to see.

"The Descendants"

George Clooney's best effort to date about a Hawaiian land baron who becomes a full time parent amid a family crisis. In limited release. The lush Hawaiian countryside should get a co-starring role. Very satisfying, given the depressing story line. A good mix of comic relief.

9/10

Cowboys and Aliens 5/10

Source Code gets 7.5 stars from me. Someone described it as Groundhog Day meets Speed. I enjoyed it a bit more than Moon, the director's first film.

Salt ( a 2010 Angelina Jolie action movie) 1.5 out of 5

The wife and daughter dragged this home from the Red Box, so we gave it a look. Pretty much a Bourne wanna-be.... lots of action, but somehow boring. No chemistry, uninteresting characters, silly plot, and Angelina looks so horribly skinny and wasted away. And the surgically smashed lip thing..... >shudder<.

Worth a rental I guess, as long as it costs no more than a buck

"The Way" In theaters now, I enjoyed it 8.5 of 10

Agree. Felt like real Hawaii, not the tourist version. Plus the girl who played the older daughter was great. She's going to be a star.
