Battleship. 1/5 for substance, 5/5 for blowing lots of s*** up.

I'll give it extra points for bringing in veterans who had served about the USS Missouri, however.

I'm an old conservative guy, but I thought The Dictator was frekin funny. Battleship was 0/5 for substance. I mean come on, the Aliens are gonna take over the planet but will not fire on any threat (human or mechanical) that lowers, drops, or aims its weapon in a different direction? WTF?

I like watching the love film not action film, in Vietnam on TV everyday you can see the Korean films and Chinese films. I'd prefer the Chinese films than the Korean films

Love the Beast: 7/10, but probably less for someone that's not a car nut... Eric Bana though, for the ladies.

Tim and Eric's Billion Dollar Movie: 0/5 stars/

There's no other way to describe it other than simply bad. How bad? Well, unlike Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter you can't hear the camera running in the background which is generally a good thing. However, that frees you up to pay attention to the dialogue which makes you wish you were listening to a 16mm movie camera. The fact is Heidecker and Wareheim thought they could string together 93 minutes of their usual schtick and call it a movie, but it's not. It's an exercise in self-indulgence. Plot, well it's there but it's so idiotic that it probably shouldn't be. Dialogue, I guess humans in a parallel universe speak this way but no one I know does. Production values, given all the care you would expect from guys who feel the need to plaster their name all over their project. Then there's the greatest crime of all. They're simply not funny. If an alien robot with no concept of human humor wrote a script, it would be funnier than this. And yet some producer gave Tim and Eric a lot of money so that they could waste the talent of people like Zach Galifianakis, John C. Reilly, and Will Forte on this disaster of a movie.

Brave.

I want to give it a 9/10, but I have to say 8. I want to score it better because Pixar is back in form after the Cars 2 debacle (Cars was so good because the characters were doing car things; Cars 2 sucked because they weren't), but its originality is just this side of Everybody Else and not as far out as past Pixar films.

Still, it was a great time. Recommended for anyone who's ever been, or will be, a teenager.

Why of course I did. I just didn't list it.

Everything Must Go: 4/10.

It just didn't ring true. And I just didn't care whether Will Ferrel managed to sell all of his stuff or get sober.

And WAY too long. They could have told that story in 1:30

We watched 'The Way' on dvd from netflix last night. It was about an uptight opthalmologist going out to France to retrieve the body of his hippie son and he winds up taking the cremated remains on the hike the son died on the first day of, a pilgrimage out to just about the Atlantic coast of Spain where St James is supposed to be buried. It's a 500 mile hike and he meets some people on the way and loosens up a bit. We had a friend over to watch who hiked the trail (Camino de Santiago) last spring, so got some additional commentary. It was an interesting story, good characters/acting, and outstanding scenery (rural trail, small towns, big city architecture, all that stuff you want to get out of a trip to Europe). I would definitely give it an 8/10.

Prometheus--8 (on a scale of 10).

The movie gets extra points for having Charlize Theron AND Noomi Rapace. Charlize is 5'10" tall and Noomi is 5'4" nice contrast!

SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT

Why does Charlize keep getting killed IN THE MOVIES? She not only plays the "bad guy" in her last wo movies, but she is also killed at the end. She is too cute to die.
