mulholland falls with nick nolte, melanie griffith and chazz palmentieri. most of the feds/lapd interaction not believable but it was better than expected. an 8.

Cabin in the Woods - 5/10...it wasn't actually a bad movie, a lot better than what I was expecting.

Safe - 2/10 Jason Statham movie....a regurge of all his other movies.

A Guy Who Kills People - 8/10...very pleasantly surprised with this movie.

The Conversation: Not as good as I remembered and drags somewhat in the middle but still enjoyable. 7/10.

It also has the best quote about religion and politics ever.

Don't you believe in the gods Graccus?

Privately, I believe in none of them. Neither do you. Publicly, I believe in them all.

Tall Man - 8/10 was really surprised with this movie. Lots of twists and turns.

Lovely Molly - 6/10 it was kind of like Paranormal Activity but scarier, the ending blew though.

Looper - 8/10

Bruce Willis goes back in time to avoid getting shot by a 30-year-younger version of himself. Hilarity ensues.

I wonder, though -- why 30 years for time travel? Back To The Future started with the same gap.

It's just long enough to meet the young versions of middle age people.

Hot Tub Time Machine. 4 out of 10. (And 3.5 of that is for the clothes. Most of which I still have in my closet somewhere.)

Taken II.......3/5.

Slow, tedious start to set the stage, and then it starts to move along. Nothing new, pretty predictable..... stuff blows up, bad guys are dispatched, and our hero prevails. Entertaining enough, and much better than sitting in the office suffering the idiots.

If you liked Taken, then you'll like this one. Pretty much the same deal, only the wife gets snatched this time. Mayhem ensues, and at the end the family is safe, sound, and staring adoringly into each others eyes.

I was mildly surprised to see the theater more than half full on a Monday 12:20 matinee..... usually I'm one of 3-4 people in there.

Frankenweenie -- Classic Tim Burton, weird and funny and a little sweet.

My rating? Can't rate Tim Burton.

Just saw Loopers. 2/5, maybe.

It wasn't a bad film, but in the end I just didn't care enough abut any of the characters to be interested in how the conundrum resolved itself. It just wasn't a very compelling story for me...... or maybe it wasn't played out compellingly enough. Either way, I found myself checking my watch a couple of times before it was over.

Just me and two other folks were on-hand...... the theater was almost completely empty.

The "resolve" in Looper took me by surprise, so for that and for the clever treatment of having two of the same guy in one time, I'd give it a 6/10. Then again, Jeff Daniels role was good enough to get it to a 7.

Argo, I'd give an easy 8/10. Ben Affleck has been making some great movies.

Storyline was goofy but I freaking loved that movie, laughed my butt off...mostly because I'm eighties child.

Barricade - 2/10 had Eric McCormack in it that's about it.

Seance - 1/2/10 don't bother

Sinister 7/10 pretty spooky but it wasn't all that it was hyped up to be.

The Raven - 7/10 actually pretty good, slow but builds up speed and a great mystery.

I've watched it twice in the past 6 months or so. Very good show. Lately I've been watching The Andy Griffith Show. I can't believe it only gets a 6/10 on IMDB. Ridiculous. 9/10, just because it got kind of boring once Barney left and they switched to color.

The Thieves - 8/10, or better. Seems at first like Ocean's Eleven in Korean, but it's more interesting than that. Fun flick.
