ROck OF Ages. A solid 10
If you're at all familiar with the music and fashions of the '80s, it's a must see.

We Bought a Zoo. A 10. One of the best movies I have seen in a very long time.

I saw argo recently. stared slow but wound up being pretty entertaining although it was dramatized for the screen.

Young Frankenstein - a Mel Brooks movie from 1974.

I give it a 4/5 - but that is hardly objective, as I was so in love with Teri Garr as a high school boy that I would have happily spent the rest of my life watching her read a book.

There is a lot of spot-on comedic timing going on here. Marty Feldman is a riot just juggling his eyeballs, Cloris Leachman is perfect in her role, and Peter Boyle makes a great Frankenstein. And lots and lots of Teri Garr.

Shot in B&W, it is a very entertaining film

Yeah, at least a 4/5. That and Airplane! were two of the first movies I showed to my wife-to-be, who, having not grown up in the US, needed to be introduce to what I called "neoclassic American cinema".

"Give him a sedagive!" *shrug*

Last night, we saw Wreck It Ralph. John Lasseter has definitely taken over Disney's animation department, because this movie had its Pixar moments. Really quite good. 7/10 or better.

that's it? an 80%? a 'b?' please do extra credit watching to bring that grade up to an 'a' please...one of the all-time great comedies.

grace kelly mood lately...

rear window-9.5. you never leave the apartment but you're constantly intrigued. the voyeur in all of us. arguably hitchcock's best.

to catch a thief-9. that cheezy fireworks display midway through really detracts from the overall film. still surprised hitchcock wasn't classier/more subtle there. oh well.

ARGO - meh! Maybe a 5, 6 tops. Characters were two-dimensional caricatures.

It is a tradition now to watch Bram Stoker's Dracula on Halloween. It is still a great movie in spite of Keanu Reeve's glaringly ill cast presence in it.

haha! mine too...just slightly different movies. all family dinners invoke at least one of these 3 (but sometimes all) movies:
young frankenstein (occasionally dipping into blazing saddles or high anxiety),
monty python & the holy grail (morphing into life of brian or meaning of life),
and a newish addition-black dynamite at the unfortunate expense of dr. strangelove.
