upside down (2012)

9/10 if you don't look too much at physics behind it
2/10 if you do

Special effects are simply amazing (Inception looks amateur in comparison)
Story is average

In time (2011)

6/10 interesting

Die Welle/The Wave (2008)

8/10 Deep

Joe's apartment (1996)

6/10 so funny (if you don't take it too seriously)

Cinema Paradiso - Easy 8/10.

This movie is a real gem. A little on the predictable side, but well shot, well acted, and heartwarming. You actually care about the characters in it and the relationships they have to one another.

Candidate - 6/10 - Full of fluff, not much substance but pretty darn funny...if you like Will Ferrell type humor.

Out Cold - 7/10 - Old movie w/ Teri Garr, John Lithgow....really humorous.

Everybody's Fine 8/10 - If you want to watch a movie to make you cry and makes you want to call your father, this is it. Has De Niro, Sam Rockwell, Kate Beckinsdale, and Drew Barrymore in it.

Skyfall -- it's Bond, what can you say? My wife didn't like it as much as usual, possibly because she was kinda tired and got a nap in the middle (or maybe she slept because it didn't engage her). Not as many cool gadgets, but I suppose that's part of the story. M is the focus this time.

the og the postman always rings twice (1946) with lana turner & john garfield. good but not as good as i was expecting.
slammed too many unnecessary plot twists into the last 30 minutes and garfield bugs. still...an 8.

surprisingly good. gary oldman (along with chris walken and willem dafoe) makes nearly anything he does a must-see. i invariably watch it 1-2 times a year and enjoy it every time.

Watched The Sitter with Jonah Hill. At this point, if you have seen one Jonah Hill movie, you have seen all of Jonah Hill's movies. Not the worse movie I have ever seen, but not good 4/10

Watched Lucky Number Slevin again last night - 9/10.

Good cast of characters (Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, Lucy Liu, Ben Kingsley), good story line that is well-told, slid performances all around, and a satisfying ending.

Watched Crossfire Hurricane HBO documentary on the Stones for 40th anniversary. Well worth a look I'd say 8.5 or 9 out of 10

I just watched a very interesting Norwegian film last night, Headhunter. I liked it - 8/10

It's about a corporate headhunter that augments his income by heisting artwork. He makes the mistake of choosing the wrong fellow, and the movie really takes off. Solid performances, lots of action, and a few intriguing twists and turns. As a bonus, it is available from Netflix as a streaming video.

I was in that frame of mind too, until I saw the new 21 Jump Street. It may have been just because I had a few beers, but that movie had me laughing harder than I have in awhile several times. He does play that same old character though. I'd give it 8/10
