it only has a 4% on RottenTomatoes

Ok. I read the first one this weekend. Yep I can see why you didn't like it. They left out quite a bit and changed the story.

I saw Skyfall this weekend with the kids. It was ok. Can't say I liked or disliked it. While I like Daniel Craig I can't help but think maybe the Bourne series has passed Bond by. 6/10

I thought Matt Damon dropped out of that series

Riddick. 6/10. Worthy addition to the mythos, but one too many cute things, bad CGI. Not as good as Chonicles; too similar to Pitch Black, but maybe with a purpose, the introduction of a new story arc. The movie was a useful, if disposable, segue from king of the Necromongers to back on task as a Lone Wolf badass. We got him on a quest to find Furya, bad guy Necromonger to track down and wreak vengeance upon, and all kinds of room for secondary characters to make another appearance. Dolls? Toombs? Plus Katie Sackhoff as kick ass lesbian bounty hunter and sponge bath scene boob shot.

A few movies I've seen in the past week or so:

- Evil Laugh: 4/10. A typical 80's teen slasher. Recommended if you can handle super cheesy dialogue paired with acting to match.

- Cellar Dweller: 7/10. Cool concept involving a horror based comic artist's drawings coming to life. Reminds me of something that could have been used for Tales from the Crypt.

- The Outing: 5/10. Pretty decent slasher set inside a museum involving an evil genie.

- Motel Hell: 8/10. Had fun watching this. Along the lines of Texas Chainsaw Massacre '74 but with a sense of humor added.

The hobbit, pt. 2. Lots of action, not much in the way of character development or storytelling.

The 'talking dragon' was uh, well.

7.5/10

There are a lot of low rating movies in this thread, which only begs the question as to why some folk insist on watching - and then not enjoying - mainstream Hollywood rubbish?! And no, I'm not being 'superior', I'm just making what I think is a very valid observation!

The last film I watched I can wholeheartedly recommend:

Michael Haneke - Amour. 10/10.

Pompei (2014) 10/10 for special effects and sound, the movie by itself isn't new 6/10, split in 2 the first part being kind of boring but those special effects in the second half are among the best i've seen to date.

Watched the Movie Steve Mc Queen did of the Le Mans 24 hour race .. on TV .. But .. noted Faux Pas : he started the race sitting in the car..

A 'Le Mans start' is standing across the road from your Parked car .. and running across the road and jumping/crawling in and starting it..

I last saw Captain America: The Winter Soldier. On a scale of 1 to 10 it was pretty dumb.
