And I thought it couldn't get any better than Albert King........

Spinning right now, Muddy Waters - Hard Again. This is a minty 1977 first pressing and the sound is captivating. Best recorded rendition of Mannish Boy that I've ever heard. If you're into the blues, you need this one in your collection.

And just look at the personnel on this effort:

Muddy Waters – vocals, guitar
Bob Margolin – guitar
Pinetop Perkins – piano
James Cotton – harmonica
Willie "Big Eyes" Smith – drums
Charles Calmese – bass
Johnny Winter – guitar, producer

Spinning right now, Bob Dylan - Blood On The Tracks

Meh - a few good tracks, to be sure. But mostly folk/hippie crap. The good news is that it only cost me a buck.

i still prefer desire from that era but i still count over half of the 10 tracks on that album as solid with another 2 pretty decent.
still...for a dollar?!?! tuff to beat.

I thought I might draw you out on that one.

I'll give it another listen, but at first blush it just wasn't my cup o' tea.

you got me. lol. once you get past "tangled up in blue," it's not as obviously good but there are still a few lesser gems.

Richard Thompson "Electric". Jawdropping "Whatwaszat!?" guitar solos in a power trio format mixed with slow ballads of mixed emotions. A who guy who wrote one the best motorcycle songs ever and should someday to a bike song.

I guess I'm the only one bothering to spin actual records these days.

Just finished, Little Walter - The Best Of, Voll II

Spinning now, The Allman Brothers - The Allman Brothers Band at Fillmore East

On the turntable this minute, Ry Cooder - Borderline

The whole album is great, but side 2 is fantastic... The Girls From Texas and Don't Make Your Move Too Soon are real gems.

Oooooohhhh......

Just picked up a very clean copy of Sonny Boy Williamson - More Real Folk Blues.
A French pressing, from the Chess label.

That man could sure play the harp. Soooooooooo good.

Black Crowes-By your Side

IMO one of the 100 best rock recordings produced.

Then this,
Jimi Hendrix-People Hell & Angels

If you want to hear Jimi really get into the Blues sound, this one will do it.

On the turntable right now, Rolling Stones - Let It Bleed

This is one of my "go-to" albums.... a real classic.

Johnny Cash - Country Western Classics

This is a 3 album Time Life boxed set I bought for $1. I don't think they have ever been played, as the vinyl is so shiny I need sunglasses to look at it. . It even came with a nice booklet giving the timeline and detailed background of every song contained in the set, with descriptions of when and how each song came to be.

Tres Bon.

Bare bones and straightforward arrangements, just like God intended Johnny Cash music to sound like.

Just finished spinning, Tanya Tucker - TNT. Excellent cover of Angel From Montgomery. and well worth the $ I paid.

Spinning right now, The Animals - Best of the Animals. Excellent pressing in excellent condition. Some nice blues covers on this LP, including the iconic Boom Boom. House of the Rising Sun, too. Excellent LP all around.
