time for another oddball TV series thread

Just watched the first season of The Almighty Johnsons. It's a Kiwi dramedy in the style of Lost Girl and Grimm. No budget for special effects worth mentioning. But it has what I see as a quirky Aussie sense of humor, and I enjoyed it. Netflix only has season 1, there are 2 other seasons. At the moment, Netflix isn't even acknowledging they exist.

I am afraid I am beginning to get annoyed with Netflix. I've had a lot of badly worn discs showing up, and the casual way they add and drop things is getting on my nerves. But enough of that, seen anything new lately?

House of Cards third season is on, but this thread doesn't belong in P&R, you need to stop doing this.

'girls' is pretty well written. last week, ray made a 3d model of his city block and showed up at the town hall grievance meeting, only to be passed up on the docket after waiting for hours to speak about the traffic noise on his block. he went ape****. it was hilarious.

marc maron (from the 'wtf' podcast) played the city hall guy.

    there. i just p&r'd this b****.

For all the hype leading up to Schitt's Creek, it is not as good as I had hoped.

"Under the dome" is kind of fun if you liked "Lost"

Just start watching Life again. Even if you don't watch the whole thing, the 'I am not attached to this car' scene, in the first episode, is priceless.

If you haven't seen The Finder yet, it's a little known gem.

Watched the fifth season of Boardwalk Empire on DVDs from the library. I liked it, my wife did not.

Saw the movie Fury with Brad Pitt. Reminded me of the the 60's TV show Combat! where Sgt Saunders (Vic Morrow) and a squad of American soldiers were the only Allied soldiers fighting the Germans day after day without any support.

    Too silly.

I think we had this conversation before. It's good, but overly dark. Granted, I didn't make it through a whole episode. I did like the Brit version.

The writing for UTD is horrible. The plot lines are just stupid. I feel sorry for the actors. I watch it like watching a train wreck. I'm hooked.

yeah but there's a new season out. if you could make it through half of the first season, you'd like it. I tried it a few times before I could watch it
