yesterdays gental wind was nothing compared to what i had today!!! lastnight the wind howleled to about 30 mph or so it did rain some but not enough to matter. the lightning show was awsome I could see that someplace to my north they were in the mitsts of a violent thunderstorm this morning I stoped for coffie and a bagal got to talkin to a guy and his wife in their 70's from michigan. traveling thehigh line also but in an automobile. Up till a few years ago they travled the contry on mororcycles they had lots of road stories to tell . I got going about 8:30 with a strong tail wind at least 15-20 mph i was in the big chain ring most of the day and cruising at 16-20 mph and feeling good. I knew a shortcut so i got off the hy and took a secondary road throught he reservation, thats when i saw the biggest rattle snake Ive ever seen in my life he was about This LONG and about this big ARROUND and had at least 5 buttons on his tail.... guess he didnt like the looks of me cause he was nmovin fast accross the road and off into the brush he went , which was ok with me.

I made 60 miles today by 1:30 pm so i quit riding and set up foir the night in culbertson Mt. THere was one point i had to go directly into the wind to get back to the hy for 2 miles geeeeze good thing i didnt have to battle this wind all day long. I do remember days on end dealing with this type of wind going west last year.

Talkin to a local dude he told me as far as wind in mt and N.D. expect the unexpected. sometimnes it will blow from east sometimes west or north or south or any combination of these.

tomorrow the wind is forcast as the same just alittle less forcefull. It is the folowing day i need help with as i will be spendingg the day climbing and decending for 63 miles of middle of nowhere.
