Ok I dont know what has happened to Kelli maybe her computer crashed or is busy with work but ive got an hour now at the libarary to post what i sent to kelli in a letter.

This was a true day off because I didnt ride the bicycle at all this day. I got up or actually got woke up at 5 am local time. My good friend Lauri called to leave me a voice mail but i forgot i had the phone turned on so of course i answered she was almost as surprised as i was to hear eachothers voice. we talked a while She was driving to teach a class at Lake geniviea about an hour's drive from her home. this was the beginings of a great day and night for me, and Lauri if your reading this you started it off.

After saying good by i headed to the office of the motel i was at to get in on the free coffie and a bagal. Bob the owner cameout and we talked about all sorts of stuff for about 45 minutes he is from india and came here 8 years ago with his wife and kid and made a living in the mill saved and made the down payment on the motel.

came back to the room restd and watched the weather chanel it was still verry hot like in the upper 90's and low 100's. At noon i walked over to the libary to use th ecomputer and do the e mial thing and post a message to bobs site.( it was still up then) stoped at the grocery and got some fruit to eat then headed over to the oregon trail musieum. this place is dedicated to the more than 300,000 brave souls that travled this route in the pionieer sperit asperit that continues today.

there was a lady playin the old piano and two old cow boys playin harmonica as i strolled through the halls of history. I spent about 2 hours in there then left and found a chineeze place to eat. I was headed back to the motel and decided to walk through the park thats when i met Joy Chrisiansen she is a working cow girl and also a muscian playing harmonicas accross the country. she was in the band shell doing a simple load in We got to talkin and I asked if they were going to play some tonight? they would be playin by 5pm it was to be a bennifit for Carla shafer an other musiian who is also a missenary headed to africa there would be an assortment of others playin also. Since i had some chores left to do and needed to work on my bike a while and rotate the tires ect. I told Joy that I would come back later and listen.

about 2 hrs later i walked back to the park just in time to watch Joy finish her last song as a solo act. then some one else went on. Joy cam over and said hi and we danced a bit as the fiddle player fiddled arround on stage. I took some pictures as al the muscians regrouped for a big ole jam session, playing some folk stuff like ji8m croce jonie mitchell lenord choen ect then some blues soem religious stuff and some blue grass the last two somgs were ornge blossem special and amazing graCE that would have made a hardened criminal cry....

As i was takin pics thelma asked me to send her copys and we exchanged addresses, after the gig Joy introduced me to just about everyone. Carla gave me a tAPE SHE and her band produced to take along. Joy and I had a good time after the gig.

Later on when I was alone again and walking back to the motel a group of teen agers in a car approached I thought I was going to get hasseled. they asked instead for my autograph.... I thought a second and told them that they had me confused wioth someone else! I am not famous, they replied "yes sou are famous please sign my book. So i said ok and signed my name and my foot ball number from high school. I was restless so i went for an ice cream cone and walked back to the room and prepared to ride in the morning. I t is really about what happenes to you along the way that counts more then the distination
