Russ Warner Earth Day Bike Tour

In honor of Earth Day, bike-riding enthusiasts are invited to join Russ Warner, Democratic candidate for Congress in California's 26th district, as he embarks on a 53-mile long bike tour along the Foothills of the San Gabriel Valley.

"Earth Day is a great reminder that even in a place as vast and diverse as this district, we can embrace alternative forms of transportation that move people out of their cars and ultimately reduce our dependence on foreign oil," Warner says.

Join Russ Warner for a portion or all of the ride, which will kick off at 8 a.m. Sunday, April 20 in front of the Rancho Cucamonga Senior Center. Free bike helmets will be distributed to youth during a lunchtime stop on the bike tour at Warner's campaign headquarters in Monrovia, 837 W. Foothill Blvd. The helmets have been provided by local insurance agent Matthew Lyons, who has an office in Upland.

An avid cyclist and successful small businessman, Warner has lived in the district for nearly 27 years with his wife, Kris, and their three sons. Greg, their eldest, is in the U.S. Army and served in Iraq for seventeen months. Upon his return home from the war, Greg challenged his father to make a difference by running for Congress. Warner believes we need new leadership with new priorities to represent the values of the 26th District.
