MS150 Southern California event
Hey guys, new to the forums but I've been browsing for quite some time. On september 20th-21st I'll be participating in my first charity ride in the MS150 SoCal ride. It's from Camarillo to Santa Barbara and back...should be a fun one! I've been training pretty hard but unfortunately it's been on a hand me down bike from my dad who rides about 3-4cm larger bikes than I do. I SHOULD be on a 56-57cm bike but I'm riding a 60 because that's all I could work with at the time.
I have an inheritance coming from my great grandma who passed away last month but I don't know if it'll be here in enough time to purchase a new bike, so 150 miles on a bike that's too big may create a bit of a challenge for me. Nevertheless, I'm still going to hit the road no matter what!
If anybody else is doing the SoCal ride feel free to post in here. My dad has done it for the last 3 years, and last year he won the custom made Parkpre carbon road bike, built to his specs, valued at some 6500 bucks. It's a beautiful bike for sure (that's how I got the hand me down, his old junker lol) so look out for a carbon/orange parkpre bike this year and I'll be following closely (hopefully) behind
On a side note, I don't have MS, I don't know anyone with MS, and I don't know anyone who's died from MS. I guess I'm one of the few lucky ones out there as MS makes an impact on almost everyone in the world. Still trying to get my donations in, I'm about 140 bucks short by the time I get all my checks turned in. I have been telling everyone that I will be giving away the helmet I custom painted for the ride to the highest donor...sofar my wife and her boss are the only two who donated the highest...I guess they want me to hang on to the helmet for awhile longer lol. A pic of the helmet is posted on my MS page, you can see it here....

I do paint and body work on the side, mostly dealing with custom airbrush stuff and I'm attending UTI in Rancho Cucamonga in hopes of being some big name Lexus Master Technician some day lol.
Hope to see some of you local guys out there!
