Loca lEvents
I know there is still snow and ice on the ground in Conneticut, but does anyone know of any future events that I can do as a high school student and avid cyclist this spirng. I need to know because I want to plan ahead so I can do as many as possible.

Here locally, there are a couple of websites that list them all. You might try googling around to see if there's something like that for your area.
Also, bicycle club websites often have listings and links for the rides they will be involved in. You might also check at local bike shops.
Events are not always planned out as far ahead as you might think. Last time I checked, there were several north Texas rides that hadn't posted their event dates for summer 2009 yet, although the event is probably happening.

If you're interested in charity rides, there's Katlynn's Ride in Amherst Ma in early June. A number of ride options, up to 100 miles. All the money goes to the Jimmy Fund. I think the fundraising minimum last year was $300. They will start registration on March 1, go to www.kride.com.
