12th Tour de Pike, Georgia, March 21st

The 12th annual Tour de Pike will occur on March 21st, starting in Concord, GA which is about 1 hour south of the Atlanta airport. This ride is for bicycles and inline skaters. Fee is $25 prior to March 13, $30 after. From the site:Enjoy the scenic beauty and smooth paved roads of historic Pike County with its turn of the century towns and villages. Pike County is only 50 miles south of Atlanta but a world away in hospitality and southern charm. The terrain is gently rolling hills. The ride will pass horse and cattle farms as well as peach and pecan orchards. Riders will be able to visit each village and have the opportunity to visit the historical sites located here. SAG vehicles will sweep the ride to offer assistance or a ride. Refreshments will be served in each village. All pre-registered will receive a guaranteed “T” shirt of your size. Tour de Pike proceeds have provided scholarships, food baskets for the needy and donations to other charities. This is a ride and not a race, so enjoy!

This was a great ride. Weather was perfect, a bit cold at the start. It ended with a sit down hot lunch (beef tips, rice, pasta salad (hot and cold), string beans, rolls, fruit) at the Concord Cafe which also was great. The food should entice you! Plan on it for next year - always the third week of March.

Out fishing with Annie on his lap, a cigar in one hand and a ginger ale in the other, watching the sunset.

I wish I could have been there this year, but I was hurt, and couldn't have made the 14 hour drive, or I would have been. I had a ball at last years!

Smile

We will look forward to your visit next year. BTW we had 266 riders at last count which was much bigger than last year.
