The Banded Peak Challenge is a one-of-a-kind mountain adventure that encourages youth, families and outdoor enthusiasts to summit a Canadian Rocky Mountain in support of children and adults with disabilities or special needs. Since 2001 the Banded Peak Challenge has raised over $236,000, giving over 470 kids the unique opportunity to attend specialized camp programs at Easter Seals Camp Horizon.
This summer, consider participating in a truly unique event. The 2009 Banded Peak Challenge for Easter Seals Camp Horizon offers an exhilarating experience in a stunningly beautiful setting. This back-country fundraising adventure takes place in Kananaskis country and begins with a 13.5km bike ride on the Big Elbow Bike Trail. From there, participants hike 5 km to the summit of 9,626ft Banded Peak. With great prizes to be won at outposts along the trail, youth, families and outdoor enthusiasts will have a great time at this event!
If you only climb one mountain in your life, make it this one.
