Bike MS Mooresville, AL, Sept 26-27, 2009
I work for the Vestavia Hills Police Dept. We started a bicycle unit about a year ago and the response from the citizens and businesses has been great. We were trying to think of something to do to help the community along with bicycle safety classes and bike rodeos.
While trying to come up with ideas, one of our administrative clerks was diagnosed with MS. It has been hard on her husband and kids. We found out about the MS ride in Mooresville and entered a team.
We are looking for donations, however this is the first time this event has occurred in north Alabama, so while donations are greatly appreciated, I was also hoping that I could get more riders interested in joining us.
You can go to www.vhpdbiketeam.org
for event info, and you can go to www.vestaviahills.net
, and click on the bike patrol email under the police dept. to get in touch with me or one of the other officers. This is our first time at trying an event like this so any suggestions are appreciated.
