GOOD charities..?

How often is a charity just enough money to raise for them to perpetuate living while doing a good deed?

what are charities that involve less money and provide more warmth to humanity?

are there charities that donate time, love and thought?

one could argue that by donating money, we are perpetuating commerce regardless and surrendering our freedom.

in the case of donating, we find a true empathy in things we are willing to donate for. We may feel something needs to be done. Money doesn't always help

Bikes: One brand-less build-up, and a Connondale Synapse Carbon Ultegra Disc. A nicer bike than I need, but it was a good deal, so... ;-)

You are right, however some good deeds do require capital and operating costs. Doing one does not obviate doing the other.

One of the best resources for helping me decide if if I want to donate to a specific charity is Charity Navigator. Yes, all charity's have overhead, including paid staff. I personally won't give to a charity that doesn't ensure that at least 85% of the money it raises goes to the stated purpose of the charity. This website breaks down such monies, as well as additional information that one can use in researching a charity.
