Join the 2nd annual OwL Ride, Omaha’s nighttime urban cycling adventure, on Saturday night, July 16, 2011, for an active experience in Omaha’s dynamic metro core. The OwL Ride is the largest annual night bike ride between Chicago and Denver.
See the city in a unique light—star light and moon light, as well as street lights. The OwL Ride circles a specially designed 16‑mile route through Downtown, Midtown, Dundee, Aksarben, Field Club and Old Market neighborhoods, with a shortcut available to create a 7-mile ride.
With a non-competitive format, both casual and serious riders of all ages and skill levels will enjoy the OwL Ride—from young professionals and empty nesters to families looking for a unique night ride experience. You’ll enjoy snacks, refreshments and fun on a cruise through the city with your nocturnal friends.

Start and Finish:
Lewis and Clark Landing on the downtown Omaha riverfront will continue to host the start and finish of the 2011 OwL Ride. Currently, the area of the Landing to be used by the OwL Ride, though near the Missouri River, is expected to remain high and dry. In the event the status of the Landing changes, the start finish will be moved to a nearby riverfront location.
(Suggested parking is at the Gallup campus shown on the linked Lewis and Clark area parking map.)
Enjoy everything the Old Market and Downtown Omaha have to offer! From restaurants and art galleries to shopping and live entertainment, there is something for everybody.
The Playing with Fire concert has been moved to Stinson Park at Aksarben Village. We encourage OwL Ride fans to enjoy Playing with Fire at that new location, but as a result of the move, the OwL Ride will not operate a bike corral at Lewis and Clark Landing.
Owl Perchs (Rest Stops):
Midtown Crossing/Turner Park will host the first and best-lit Owl Perch!
Pitch Pizzeria will sponsor the second unique Owl Perch in downtown Dundee!
Jones Bros. Cupcakes in Aksarben Village will host a (new in 2011) Owl Perch.
Field Club is the site of the fourth Owl Perch, with possibly the best star and moon light of the evening.
