I am wanting to organize co-workers at my hospital to ride in some local charity events. I am hoping to begin participating as soon as this November with more next spring/summer.

What do team organizers/captains actually do? What qualities do I need to bring to the table? How do successful/continuing cycling teams coalesce and perform in charity events?

I'm looking for advice and know only that there is a lot I don't know.
