Cool 30th Annual Solvang Century, Metric and Half Century - March 10, 2012

www.BikeSCOR.com

This is the "grandaddy" of Century rides on the West Coast and this year marks our
30th Annual ride with 5000 riders expected. This non-competitive recreational ride offers 3 routes (100 miles, 100 kilometers or 50 miles) and starts and finishes at the Hotel Corque in quaint downtown Solvang, California. There are multiple SAG stops and the entry fee includes tire irons and a patch kit, refrigerator magnet, goodie bag, packet of Chamois Butt'r, Clif Bar sample, law enforcement control of intersections, SPIZ energy drink, patch, ham radio communication, roving mechanical support and a Bicycle Festival on Friday evening March 9th and all day Saturday March 10th.

Chris Carmichael of Carmichael Training Systems fame will be our guest speaker on Friday evening at a catered Italian carbo loading dinner that the Solvang TheaterFest, located 2 blocks from the Hotel Corque. Don't miss a chance to hear "A Night with Chris Carmichael" and his 20 years of insights into the pro peloton!

This ride also benefits the three summer camps that provide unique camping experiences for children with congenital heart defects (Camp Bon Couer, Camp Del Corizon and Camp Taylor), two of which are located in California and one in Louisiana. Over the last 30 years we have sponsored hundreds of children to attend these fantastic camps that allow kids with cardiac limitations to participate in camping, hiking, swimming, archery and crafts........things we all did in our younger years that leave indelible memories.
