I'm just beginning to formulate a plan for a charity ride. It would be me riding solo for a very long distance to raise money and awareness for a particular cause. I'm hoping to get some sponsorship from my local bike shop in the way of parts and service. Also hoping to secure some corporate sponsorship. My contacts are in place. I need to make as strong a case as possible to them.

Any and all advice from anyone who has done this is greatly appreciated.
