Tour de Cure Atlanta - American Diabetes Association

I've signed up for the Atlanta tour, which will be my first ever. If not for these forums I'd never have considered it, so thank you all.

Now that I've signed up and met my fundraising, I wish it was sooner than May 19! Do you know if there's a GPS waypoints file for the route?

Go to http://ridewithgps.com/routes enter atlanta, ga, leave or adjust the minimun "within" distance and minimum ride distance depending on what you'd like and then put "tour de cure' (without the quotes) in for keywords. They've not yet posted the 2013 routes, but from that site you can download the GPS files. If using an 800 take the TCX file as it will give you the turn by turn info from the Cue Sheet. Have to note the rest stops, shown as water stops aren't there until the day of event. I used to live up that way, and there's not a lot of sources, make sure you've got water and snacks as needed for the distance you go.

Bump! May 19 is coming! Can't wait. They've posted routes a while back I am sure all the current riders are already aware. Was out on the 14 mile route this past weekend for the first time. Very nice. Quiet area. Lots of bike traffic. Very courteous drivers on the road as well. I am looking forward to a great event.
Georgia state law stating that bicyclists “May Use Full Lane” when lane widths are not wide enough for motorists to safely pass cyclists and stay completely within the travel lane. (now all I have to do is convince GA drivers to read the law).

Has anyone ridden the full route? (Thanks for the link Drew).

My latest email mentioned "challenging climbs" and that only "advanced cyclists" should sign up, after practicing with several hilly centuries.

How drastic is it? Since my lowest gear is 39 gear-inches I'm considering swapping my chainring out for a triple.
